Becky
began playing guitar at age 7 and performing in bands at
age 9. She fronted her first show on New Years Eve at age
12 for an audience at the Cuylerville Sportsman's Club with
Al & The Alley Cats. She did many engagements with Del
Sylor and the Country Hobos and then in 1982 met Dan Horning
at a mutual friends' house.
Dan
was looking for a female for his band in 1985 and asked
if Becky would like to form the N. Y. Rockin' Rodeo Band
- a TOP 40 High Energy Country Band. The band began touring
Western Canada in December 1985 playing 6 nights a week,
48 weeks a year for the next 5 years.
In
1988 the band obtained a contract through the Dept. of Defense
to entertain troops abroad. They did a 6 week tour of Turkey,
Greece, Italy and Spain. That would be the first of 11 overseas
tours that took them to 31 different countries over the
next 10 years. NYRRB continued work in the US and Canada
until June 1990 when DAN and BECKY decided to marry and
stay around the Western New York area. The N. Y. Rockin'
Rodeo Band played about 160 dates per year at variety of
venues around Western New York and Pennsylvania.
In
2000 the Band began expanding the genres that it performed
and when Becky became pregnant for their 1st child, they
decided to switch formats and decrease the number of performances
each year. In 2001 they changed the name to N. Y. ROCKIN'
REVUE to suit the type of music that they were now performing.
Dan
& Becky now have 2 children and reside in South Wales.
